Brue Valley Rotary Club to Help Three Local Projects

Wednesday 4 July 2012, 19:02
By Penny Underwood

Brue Valley Rotary Club will be collecting outside Morrisons, Wincanton on Friday, 13th July for three local projects.

  1. Brue Valley Rotary Club logoThe Wincanton MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) project requires funds to provide a safe, fenced–off hard-play area close to the current skate park for the benefit of the young people of this town. The new area will include facilities for football, basketball, netball and other sports. With the addition of lights to this and the adjacent skate park, this area will be open throughout the year.
  2. The Bruton Mini-Day Centre which already provides facilities for elderly, sometimes disabled, local people who usually live alone. The Day Centre uses the Bruton Community Hall and provides its visitors with lunch, social activities and entertainment. Although partly self-funded, extra funds are needed for more games, a day out and replacement of kitchen equipment.
  3. The Castle Cary Market House Restoration. With phase 1 completed, funds are still needed to cover the rear market place with a glass roof. Returning the building to its former glory in the centre of this community will provide an admirable venue for a wide range of events.

Please give generously to support these projects in your local communties.
