By Emma Harrison

King Arthur's Community School Summer Fete posterThis year sees the return of the Fun Dog Show at King Arthur's Summer Fete - with five classes to enter your pooch in, you could be going home with a rosette or two!

The classes are: Best Puppy (under one year); Handsomest Dog; Prettiest Female Dog; Dog most like it's Owner; and Waggiest Tail. Also a spot for 'Best in Show'. To enter, just come along at 6.00pm and register your dog.

New for 2012 we will have ferret racing - see who you fancy as a winner!

All the favourites will be there too, an inflatable bouncy castle, barbecue, chocolate fountain, strawberries and cream, face painting, Wincanton Fire Brigade (emergencies permitting!), tombolas, stalls and activities. The fete will be opened at 6.00pm by Steve Lafferty, Wincanton's Olympic torch relay runner, shortly after which Wincanton Primary School Country Dancers will entertain us.

Up for grabs in our raffle is a sparkling brand new mountain bike - the draw will take place at the end of the evening.

Come along and join in the fun - entry is free!
