Wincanton Silver Band is looking forward to another year of concerts, competitions and performing throughout the area. At the recent AGM the band emphasised the importance of investing in the Youth Band, which now boosts over 20 youngsters. This ensures the band's future, which in 2015 will celebrate 125 years since the band's formation in 1890.

The band took part in The West of England Championships on Saturday 9th March at Torquay's Riviera Centre. The band performed "Devon Fantasy" by Eric Ball, the chosen test piece played by all 21 bands in the section, and gained a creditable 14th position. Three of the band's juniors were part of the band line up, making their contest debut.
