There were smiles all around at Carrington House when an animal handing company paid the residents a visit.

Activities staff at the Wincanton care home organised for ZooLab to bring their animals in to meet everyone. A few residents were nervous to start with, but soon got involved and held the animals. A millipede, a tree frog, a corn snake, a tarantula and some mice made their way around the care home, stopping off in the communal lounges and everyone’s bedrooms so that nobody felt left out.

After the visit residents discussed their favourites, with the mice and the tree frog winning the vote.

I’m new to Carrington House and this was an amazing activity to help me get to know the residents. It was beautiful to see the excitement and affection they showed towards the visiting animals. I would like to thank ZooLab and their animal handlers for such a wonderful day.
