Teen Disco in support of Wincanton Carnival

The fundraising group behind the effort to bring back Wincanton Carnival have organised a Christmas Disco on Tuesday 23rd December for 11 to 17 year olds, from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.

The aim is to give local youngsters a regular night out in town. If successful the plan is to run two regular discos, one for 11 to 14 year olds and the other 14 to 17 year olds. To make this happen we really need as many of our youngsters as possible to come along and support the event, which is being held in the Sweetman Hall at the back of The Bear Inn.

The organisers are speaking to the police for necessary guidance on child supervision, and can assure parents that they have at least 4 DBS checked team members and lots of 'chaperones'. There will be a zero tolerance to alcohol and drugs.

A Facebook event has been set up to promote the event and we are hoping to see lots of young people opting in and inviting their friends. The event is being managed by Will House, Events Manager at The Bear and entry is just £2. If you have any questions about this event please contact Will at The Bear Inn.

If someone sends us some photos of tonight's disco, we'll add them to this article. Only if they're good though, eh? ;)
