Theft of Power Tools

Between Monday 12th November and Saturday 17th November 2012 a variety of power tools were stolen from a shed in Cale Way, Wincanton. These tools included a Bosch drill and jigsaw, a Challenge socket set and an Ever-Ise drill. The cost of these tools combined was approximately £200.00.

Please be aware of your garden security and check that you lock and secure all outside buildings and sheds and mark as many of your items as you can with a distinguishing mark or similar. The victim is very upset by this incident and wants other people to be aware so they can secure and protect their belongings. Please be mindful if you see these tools offered at car boots, markets or similar.

Pickpocket Steals £350.00 from Purse

At a later date, on Saturday 24th November 2012, a purse was removed from a zipped handbag. The owner of the handbag had it over her shoulder and was not aware of anyone unzipping it. The lady was shopping at a Christmas event in The Memorial Hall, Wincanton, and due to the amount of people did not notice anyone interfering with her handbag.

The victim had just drawn the money out for her Christmas shopping after saving all year round. The amount stolen from the purse was £350.00 in cash and it is doubtful that an insurance claim be submitted.

The victim says,

"I hope you feel guilty because I have got to find the money for my Christmas shopping now. I am devastated that someone could do this to me."

This is a heartless, cowardly act which has had a huge impact on the victim. The victim is very upset that someone could carry out this cowardly act without any thought for the victim. With Christmas just around the corner, please be extra vigilant when out and about and make sure you keep your personal belongings safe and secure.
