David Kiddell – a Great Loss for King Arthur’s School
On Tuesday 17th June, David Kiddell, Head of Design Technology at King Arthur’s School since 1997, died suddenly in the early hours of the morning. Staff and students grieved as they dealt with the loss of a very caring, hardworking teacher.
Wincanton Primary School Pupils Give Short Mat Bowls a Go!
At Wincanton Sports Ground we aim to provide a variety of sports for a variety of people. Most recently we invited pupils from Wincanton Primary School to come down and have an opportunity to try Short Mat Bowls.
Mayfly in the Classroom - 2014 VIDEO
C.A.T.C.H. has begun its 2014 endeavours with a fabulous activity for the kids. With help from the Wild Trout Trust, a sizable group of Horsington Primary School children were taken down to the River Cale to collect unhatched Mayfly eggs to be taken back to their classroom, hatched and returned to the river days later.
Sunny Duck Races Bring Wincanton Community Together & Raises £500 VIDEO
A wonderful sunny afternoon brought out droves of Wincanton families to enjoy the Duck Races at the Recreation Ground on Sunday 18th May, an annual fundraising event organised by the PTFA of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Primary School.
Bruton Art Society Five Schools 2014 Winners
Thirty students and their teachers from five local secondary schools met at the Market House in Castle Cary to see and discuss each other’s work. Who won prizes and certificates of commendation? All the works can be seen on line.
