Police appeal for witnesses to a serious collision in North Cheriton

Avon and Somerset Constabulary are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision near Wincanton. The two-vehicle crash took place at approximately 2:40pm on Tuesday 30th May on the A357 at North Cheriton.

A red VW Passat estate was in collision with a silver Toyota Aygo. An elderly couple in the Aygo sustained serious injuries. The female passenger was airlifted to Dorchester Hospital and the man was taken there by land ambulance. The man has subsequently been released from hospital but the woman remains in a critical condition.

The female driver of the Passat and two young passengers were all taken to Yeovil District Hospital with minor injuries.
