Vandals Strike Twice in Common Road - Ponies Endangered

Vandals caused mindless damage recently in two separate incidents in Common Road, Wincanton. In one, three parked vehicles were damaged and in the other, fencing surrounding a paddock was cut and bent, allowing ponies to escape into the road.

Criminal Damage at Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Primary School

On or after the 14th June 2012 there has been criminal damage to a wire fence at Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Primary School in Wincanton. The wire fence that is situated above the large stone wall on the corner of Balsam Fields has been cut, creating a large hole.

Between 27th May and 31st May 2012 a vehicle was damaged while parked in Wheathill Way, Milborne Port. The vehicle, a red Ford Fiesta, was scratched and the wing mirror pulled off.

Part of Wincanton Cemetery is set aside for the graves of young children. Sometime between the 24th and 26th May a bouquet of white roses were stolen from the grave of a baby. A wreath was also damaged.

Numerous high-value chainsaws and strimmers were stolen from a business in the area of the Henstridge Trading Estate between Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th March 2012. Along with these items there was also some fuel and drill sets stolen. The value is approximately £10,000 for the theft of these items.

Overnight on Tuesday 20th March to Wednesday 21st March 2012, two vehicles had the fuel pipes tampered with while parked up in the Windsor Terrace area of Henstridge. Police ask the public to be on their guard.
