The Friends of King Arthur’s Community School are holding a Bingo evening on Thursday 5th February to raise funds to buy much needed items for students. Eyes down at 6.30pm – everyone is welcome.

Sexey’s School, Bruton, raised over £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support with its two Coffee Mornings held on Friday 26th September as part of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, with help from local traders.

There were smiles all round as Bruton School for Girls announced its GCSE results on Thursday 21st August. With the highest results for five years, Bruton School is building its reputation for consistently high achievements year on year.
Bruton Student Swaps Boarding School for the ‘Boards’
Whilst most students were taking it easy over the Summer, one student at Bruton School for Girls was busy ‘treading the boards’ in London. Ciara Chapman, aged 18 from Bruton, attended the National Youth Theatre’s prestigious Summer workshop in London.
King Arthur’s Open Evening – Thursday 18th September
At the school’s annual Open Evening next Thursday children can take part in our ‘Round Table’ challenge, look around the school and meet our staff. Everyone is welcome, even if you do not have a child approaching secondary school age.
Wincanton's Second Play Day of the Year in Cale Park
On 20th August South Somerset Play organised the second Play Day of the Summer in Wincanton. The first event attracted circa 500 young folks and this one was expected to be as good, or maybe even better.

David Kiddell – a Great Loss for King Arthur’s School
On Tuesday 17th June, David Kiddell, Head of Design Technology at King Arthur’s School since 1997, died suddenly in the early hours of the morning. Staff and students grieved as they dealt with the loss of a very caring, hardworking teacher.

At Wincanton Sports Ground we aim to provide a variety of sports for a variety of people. Most recently we invited pupils from Wincanton Primary School to come down and have an opportunity to try Short Mat Bowls.
Mayfly in the Classroom - 2014 VIDEO
C.A.T.C.H. has begun its 2014 endeavours with a fabulous activity for the kids. With help from the Wild Trout Trust, a sizable group of Horsington Primary School children were taken down to the River Cale to collect unhatched Mayfly eggs to be taken back to their classroom, hatched and returned to the river days later.
Sunny Duck Races Bring Wincanton Community Together & Raises £500 VIDEO
A wonderful sunny afternoon brought out droves of Wincanton families to enjoy the Duck Races at the Recreation Ground on Sunday 18th May, an annual fundraising event organised by the PTFA of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Primary School.
