WTF happened!?
Yes it did, and it was marvelous! Over 1200 visitors were treated to live music as they enjoyed homemade picnics and food from local stallholders, as well as work by local artists and artisans. Maybe we should do it again next year.
WTF is going on!?
Yes it is! Preparations are well underway for the Wincanton Town Festival Market tomorrow, Saturday 26th June, 12 noon - 9pm at the Greening the Earth Gallery, formerly Clementina. There'll be live music, food all day, artist and craft demonstrations, nature activities and more.
Specialist Plant Fair at Yarlington House
The 19th Specialist Plant Fair at Yarlington House will be held on Saturday 22nd May; an opportunity for keen gardeners to buy from specialist growers from all over the South West, and to see the private Italiante flower garden and walled kitchen garden.
A car boot sale at Wincanton Sports Ground!
Wincanton Sports Ground will host a car boot sale on bank holiday Monday; the first in a little while, but if interest gathers it's possible it'll become a more regular offering. There's a growing number of interested buyers, so book your space now!
Events and Activity Grants available as part of Wincanton Town Centre Regeneration
If you are in Wincanton, and have a great idea for an initiative which would help attract people to the town centre, your business or community organisation may be able to apply for a new grant which could help bring your idea to life.
Wincanton Flower Show 2020 is cancelled
Under the present conditions, the Wincanton and District Gardeners Association has made the decision to cancel this year's Flower Show, and encourage participants to return to support the show in 2021.
The Wincanton 75 Stay at Home Street Party
It's VE Day this Friday, and a lot of effort has gone into organising a Wincanton event that observes advice on dealing with the current situation. Everyone is invited to host a concurrent 'Wincanton 75 Stay at Home' street party in their own garden to celebrate.
Wincanton Book Festival 2020
Wincanton’s second annual book festival took place on Saturday 7th March, involving several High Street venues including Wincanton Library. Local authors attended to meet visitors, give talks, and entertain the children. Roll on next year!

Janet Fray has lived locally for many years. She was married to Jerry, a retired RAF Squadron Leader and holder of the Distinguished Flying Cross, whose vital role related to the Dambusters raid was kept secret until 2001.
The Winter Fair at the Racecourse - supporting The Balsam Centre
It's time again for the delightful Winter Fair, this year to be held at Wincanton Racecourse and raising money for The Balsam Centre. Everything is donated, so all the money goes to charity.
Spooky Fireworks & Bonfire at Wincanton Sports Ground
Wincanton Sports Ground has been host to an annual fireworks event over the last few years. This year we have combined both Halloween and Bonfire Night to create a Spooky Fireworks and Bonfire night on Saturday 2nd November.
'Twas the night before carnival...
Wincanton Carnival is back after a year off, and 2019 is set to be a great show, with over 60 entries expected! There will be some road closures during the event, as well as a couple of temporary one-way systems to help residents. Read on for more details.

Wincanton Art Trail opens this Saturday 21st September, coinciding with Somerset Art Weeks. Schools, community groups, and local artists have collaborated to produce unique installations that will turn the town into a temporary art gallery.
