Festival of Nativity Scenes at Wincanton Parish Church
Wincanton Parish Church are holding a Festival of Nativity Scenes in the Church from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th December, created by local groups, organisations and individuals. Come and admire the displays.
Nibbles & Tipples at Craftique on 9th December
Craftique, purveyor of locally sourced handmade crafts since opening in July, is getting festive with a special event on 9th December offering nibbles and tipples to shop visitors between 12.00 noon and 2.00pm.
The Best Christmas Tree Ever..?
Decorated with two thousand coloured lights, this year’s Christmas tree in Market Place was officially lit on Saturday 14th November and has been claimed by many to be the loveliest tree they can remember.

Switching On the Christmas Tree Lights
This Saturday, 14th, at 6:30pm the lights on the Christmas tree at Market Place will be switched on as part of a ceremony lead by Mayor Colin Winder. There will hopefully also be some carol singing around the tree.

When one of the seats at the Wincanton War Memorial was damaged, it appeared to be an act of vandalism but there was a very different side to the incident and the outcome showed a strong community spirit.
South Street Road Closure – Monday 26th October
On Monday 26th October Somerset County Highways will be closing South Street for one day to allow works to be carried out on the pedestrian crossing between the Balsam Fields junction and Wincanton Primary School.
Refurbished Co-Op Store Opens Friday 23rd October
The Co-Operative Store in Carrington Way reopens on Friday after a recent closure for refurbishment. With reduced floor space, the store can now legally trade for longer hours, though Co-Op says customers should still enjoy the same level of stock.
