Travis Perkins paints the town white - then cleans it up
On Wednesday 24th October, a lorry delivering to the Wincanton branch of Travis Perkins left a trail of white emulsion paint all around the town, starting on the Dyke's Way roundabout opposite the A303 junction.
The Poppy of Honour WWI memorial has been damaged
The Poppy of Honour 2018 WWI memorial recently unveiled in Cale Park, Wincanton, has been damaged. The steel structure is double-glazed on both sides, and the two panes on one side have been fractured.

On Saturday 6th October, the Poppy of Honour will be unveiled during a ceremony in Cale Park, Wincanton. The event begins at the Wincanton War Memorial Hall with a parade marching down to Cale Park where the unveiling ceremony will take place.

We will have a bouncy castle, barbeque, ice cream van, stalls, side shows and games. There will be music and theatre provided by local talents, and a spiritual area where you will find Danielle from Glastonbury doing readings, a crystal reader and massage.
It's Wincanton Flower Show tomorrow!
Local, and some not-so-local gardeners and crafts people will exhibit their works, competing for prizes and trophies. It’s a show for all the family, with lots to see and do, but it's not just for gardeners. Categories include homecraft and handicraft, too.
The Bayford Book - launching 8th September
Last October, more than 100 people came to the Bayford History and Memories Exhibition. Many of them asked if some of the photos and articles could be turned into a book. The answer is yes, and it arrives on Saturday 8th September!
