Wincanton Wedding Business Goes From Strength to Strength

Friday 4 June 2010
by Maria Osborne

Maria Osborne, founderThe West Country Wedding Guide was an idea I formulated a few years ago to meet a demand for online wedding information for people getting married in the South West of England. Based from a home office in Wincanton, the online guide now has over 200 advertisers promoting their services on the website. The website generates around 10,000 unique visits per month and rising.

In 2009, the business expanded to produce a printed brochure for the first time. The West Country Wedding Guide Brochure contains helpful hints and articles and suppliers of everything you would need to organise a wedding. The brochure was printed in Wincanton and feedback has been very positive. We are now planning our 2011 brochure which will be out in September. If you have a wedding business and would like to find out more please call me to discuss further!

In addition, following a successful wedding fair at Lakeview Manor near Honiton, Devon, we are holding a further three wedding fairs across the West Country including one at Charlton House near Shepton Mallet in March 2011.

If you would like to find out more please contact me on 0800 030 4761 or please visit the website to see what we offer at www.WestCountryWeddingGuide.co.uk.

Well done Maria. You are one of very many unseen businesses in the Wincanton area. When our residents think of businesses they tend to think of our High Street traders or businesses on our trading estates.

You are part of what I believe to be the biggest business sector in our area, and possibly all other areas. I am referring to "Home Workers". Unseen by most but providing a vital service for the nation. Home workers create value for GB Ltd.

The good news for you is that you don't need to be alone. Wincanton Businesses Together (WBT) is there to provide you with encouragement, and keep you up tp date with anything that can help you in your business. We hiope that you will contact us and join with us.

Well done. Keep up the great work.

PS.
Did you know that Duncan Bannatyne (Dragon's Den) has just bought the Charlton House Hotel?
