A Great May Market in Wincanton with Country Dancing VIDEO
Our Sunday Market on 18th May was on a beautiful Spring day, attracting both residents and visitors with the varied attractions of much to eat and buy and the chance to walk up and down and talk to everyone.
Events like this really do help us all experience the town as a community. As always it took quite a bit of work from a small number of people to get us there, in particular our two Joint Market Co-ordinators, Suzy Turner-Wilcockson and Stephanie Ball. Suzy, in her fetching hat, had this to say:
"We had 28 stalls as well as entertainment from the street organ, and teams of country dancing from both of our primary schools. The feedback we have had from all the traders was positive, with them requesting we start at 10.00am instead of 11.00am for future summer markets because a large number of shoppers started to arrive at this time.
Traders and visitors to the market were all commenting on the nice vibe and atmosphere at the market. Several of the new traders who were using today as a trial to gauge the market have expressed an interest or already booked to attend future markets."
Wincanton Street Market takes place every third Sunday of the month. June's Market will be on the 15th, next Sunday!
