Wincanton Play Day 11th August 2016

Thursday 11th was the first of two Play Days planned for August during the school holiday period, organised by the SSDC Community Health and Leisure department. If you couldn’t get there for the first Play Day you needn't miss out. Come to the second event on Thursday 25th August.

The weather couldn't have been better, and between 10am and 1pm the play zone was crammed with kids and parents enjoying Messy Play with the children’s centre, birds of prey, a climbing wall, bouncy castle, face painting, arts and crafts, marshmallow toasting, and an ice cream and tuck shop. There was a steady flow of families moving between the Play Day zone and play park using the new footbridge over the River Cale.

The second Play Day coincides with the official opening of the refurbished play park and the bridge. Following the opening ceremony at 11am the Play Day will run from 1:00pm till 4:00pm, and this afternoon session will also include drumming and circus skills. It promises to be another great day; here's hoping the weather continues to be kind.
