Wincanton Armed Forces Day

This year Wincanton Royal British Legion will be holding the traditional family Armed Forces Day event at King Arthur’s School Wincanton from 12.00 noon on 25th June as the event has outgrown all previous venues.

There are promises of similar military involvement as other years, and for the first time HMS Heron Band from RNAS Yeovilton will not only open the event with a marching display but will be playing several slots throughout the afternoon.

Wincanton Silver Band will also be present and will share slots with HMS Heron Band to provide live music for most of the time.

The Air Training Corps will be bringing two flight simulators and will allow youngsters to operate them. There will also be interesting military displays, stands and interactive exhibits. This should be a good family day out.

A licensed bar is available from noon until the event closes around 4.00pm. Food, soft drinks, tea and coffee will also be available. Entry to the event is free and there will be a free shuttle bus operating from the Memorial Hall to King Arthur’s School. There is also a large free car park available.
