Wincanton Mayor's seniors' Christmas lunch 2015

Former town Mayor Colin Winder and Wincanton Town Council are now preparing for the annual Over-70’s Christmas Lunch. This year’s event takes place on Sunday 4th December in the Memorial Hall.

The lunch was originally started by the local Rotary branch, inviting local pensioners for a Christmas lunch. When the branch closed they contacted Colin Winder, Mayor at the time, asking if he would be willing to take over responsibility for the event. Since then the event has become a stable part of the town’s Christmas calendar.

The Lunch is open to Wincanton residents only, so if you would like to attend contact Deputy Town Clerk, Muriel Cairns by calling into the Town Hall, or ringing 01963 31693. You will need to supply your full name, postal address, post code, and contact telephone number to book your place.

Only those who register will receive an entrance pass for the event. This is a popular event, and seating is limited to 100, so don’t delay. Register for your seat before the closing deadline of Friday 4th November.
