By John Baxter

The Pilgrim Singers Charity Concert on Saturday 7th July 2012 is being held in the beautiful gardens of The Dogs, one of the oldest and most historic properties in Wincanton (where William of Orange stayed in 1688) next door to the Community Church in South Street.

The choir, led by Jane Fenton, will perform an eclectic mix of music - choral, sacred, jazz and world music. All you need to bring are rugs or seats and a picnic. The aim is to give you a relaxed and enjoyable evening of great music while supporting a remarkable charity that is doing vital work in helping members of our armed forces who are or have been involved in military action. To tell us about their work we will have the South West Co-ordinator for Help for Heroes, Richard Lupton.

The gardens will open at 6.00pm so you can come in, wander about and get settled, and the concert will begin at 7.00pm. There will be marquees in case of inclement weather, and it is worth being warmly dressed.

Tickets are £10.00 each or £5.00 for under 16s and can be purchased from Divine Wines, the Wincanton Post Office or from choir members. Enquiries 01963 31077.
