A new minister

The Methodist Church welcomed a new Minister, Rev. Tom Carmichael, a few months ago, having moved to this area from Cheshire.

In his "previous life" Rev. Carmichael was an engineer, which included being a diver in the North Sea. He went to work in South Africa, became more involved with the Church, and was ordained out there.

Since returning to the UK he has been through Sandhurst on an intensive course for Service Padres. He has also run in the Moscow Marathon, where they got the distance wrong, so he and his fellow runners ran 29 miles instead of the usual 26.2miles!

One of his hobbies, when time allows, is painting Orthodox icons. Wincanton and district feel lucky to have him.

An invitation to Spring into Life – Saturday 21st March

The Methodist Church is pleased to invite you to Spring Into Life – a celebration of the Life and Work of all the churches in the circuit. In September two circuits became one to form the Yeovil and Blackmore Vale Methodist Circuit.

The celebration takes place on Saturday 21st March and will be held at the Wincanton War Memorial Hall from 10.00am-3.00pm.

There will be stalls and presentations by all the churches in the Circuit. Such stalls will be related to the Messy Church, Food Bank, the Yeovil Street Pastors, Traidcraft, Christian Aid, a book-stall, and refreshments. Entry is free but donations are always welcome.

Everyone is most welcome; we hope to see you there!

Celebrating our Centenary

Wincanton Methodist Church will be celebrating its Centenary this November at which we hope to welcome many members of the Town. If anyone has any memorabilia related to this we will be grateful to see it.
