Howard Ellard - Candidate for Wincanton Town Council

By Howard Ellard

Howard Ellard, candidate for Wincanton Town Council, co-opted last September

I have been a Town Councillor since I was co-opted last September. I put myself forward as I felt it was time to give something back to the community.

I have lived in Wincanton for the last 8 years, and have previously lived in the town and in Bayford for the majority of the last 39 years. I run my own business in the town and was formerly a Director of Viridor – one of the UK’s largest recycling companies.

As a councillor I would set out to achieve the following:

  • Ensure that the Council is run appropriately and efficiently and delivers the services required.
  • Insist that the District Council listens to the people of Wincanton and not regard the town as a distant dormitory.
  • Discourage development in the wrong place and of the wrong type and actively encourage development that suits the town and its inhabitants.
  • Pursue the production of a Neighbourhood Plan.
  • Play an active role in the functions of the Council.

I would be privileged to be elected Town Councillor.

Please vote for me on 7th May!
