The Peru team

Fancy a bargain? Or swapping an unwanted gift for something you really want? Students at King Arthur’s Community School in Wincanton are holding an Easter Eggstravaganza and Gift Swap on Saturday 19th March to raise funds for a once-in-a-lifetime, month-long expedition to Peru.

Bring along your unwanted gift and simply swap it for something else that catches your eye. If you don’t have anything to bring with you, don’t worry – if you spot something you want, it’s yours for a bargain price instead of a swap.

In addition to the Gift Swap, there’ll be a raffle with some great prizes, refreshments, cakes and entertainment.

Seven students will be making the trip to Peru in 2017, living and working as part of the community and immersing themselves in the amazing Peruvian culture. During their time there, the students will help local adults and children improve their quality of life through environmental conservation programmes in the community.

Camps International, and Camp Peru logos

The children will be supported by Camps International, a specialist foundation which works with schools to organise ethically sustainable expeditions across Africa, Asia and South America.

As well as raising funds for the trip, a substantial portion of the money raised by students goes directly to help the community in Peru where they’ll be living and working, so please join the children on Saturday 19th March to support this very worthy cause.

The event takes place at King Arthur’s Community School, 10.00am to 12.00pm.

If you can’t make it on the day but would like to donate raffle prizes or unwanted items to the Gift Swap, please contact Mandy Cochrane on 07588 646401.
