Ajan AmaroSaturday 13th August sees the opening of Bruton Art Society’s 62nd Annual Exhibition. As usual this will take place in the main hall of Bruton School for Girls, Sunny Hill, Bruton. This is an excellent setting for an exhibition of over 250 paintings and sculpture produced by local artists.

You will find the styles and subjects richly varied, from fine traditional portraits and landscapes to modernist and abstract works in a variety of interesting individual styles. In addition to the framed works on display there are a large number of mounted and unframed works - paintings, drawings, and prints and there is a fascinating stand of cards produced by the artists.

If you have never thought of buying an original work before, this is a very good place to start as prices are certainly affordable and the choice so wide. Also there is no entrance charge, although a charitable donation is encouraged for St Margaret's Hospice.
