The opening of the newly named Bayford Village Hall will take place on Saturday 10th December, commencing at 10:30am.

The Guest of Honour will be Mr. John Lockwood of Viridor Credits, who, through their community fund, provided a large amount of sponsorship enabling the hall to be purchased for the residents of Bayford and the surrounding area. Other sponsorship has come from the National Lottery, Parish, District and County Councils, locally raised funds from the residents of Bayford and also some generous sponsorship from local businesses.

Since the purchase of the hall in April 2016 it has been repaired and converted into a safe and accessible community facility. This has involved the construction of a new entrance, updated toilet facilities and the installation of a kitchen capable of serving prepared meals and cooking snacks. The roof had to have major repairs and a stream was found to be flowing under the floor when it rained, so that meant major works to dig out better foundations and divert the problem. The overall cost of the project was £96,000.

The Hall will be open from 10:30am until 12:30pm and Christmas refreshments will be served. It is situated on the main road from Wincanton, just further on from Bayford Motors, on the right hand side. Please come and join us.
