Alan & Rosemary Watson Receive Life Membership of History Society

The Revd. Canon Alan and his wife Rosemary welcomed committee member John Baxter and I when we turned up at their home today to hand over a framed document giving them Life Membership of the Wincanton Museum and History Society, and to take their photograph.

This is of course simply a symbol of our thanks and esteem for the many years’ work and support Alan has given to the Museum and History Society, both as trustee and committee member since he and Rosemary came to “retire” in Wincanton.

Here he has done so much both as a priest assisting in the church and as a governor at Wincanton Primary School. For us in the Museum and History Society his unerringly thoughtful and sensible contributions to our meetings and his quiet sense of humour have contributed much to our work.
