Acclaimed Folk Musicians to Perform at North Cadbury Village Hall

Multi award-winning husband and wife folk duo Sean Lakeman and Kathryn Roberts are bringing their own acclaimed brand of folk songs to North Cadbury Village Hall in support of their best-selling album ‘Tomorrow Will Follow Today’. This Take Art promotion offers the chance to see this duo perform in an intimate rural venue as part of their nationwide tour to larger music venues.

After 20 years on the British folk scene Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman are names that have become synonymous with quality. Their live shows are designed to be an eclectic and intimate experience, where the couple invite the audience into their lives with ease. Their reputation has been solidified of late with the duo being voted as ‘Best Duo’ in the Spiral Earth Awards 2015 and the BBC Folk Awards in 2013.

Both come with an enviable folk music pedigree. Yorkshire girl Kathryn started her career in another celebrated duo with her friend Kate Rusby. She went on to tour the world fronting the folk pop band ‘Equation’ before returning to her roots and forming an acoustic duo with eldest Lakeman brother Sean. She has been lauded as one of the finest singers of her generation. Guitarist Sean grew up on windswept Dartmoor with his two musical brothers, Sam (married to Irish singer Cara Dillon) and Seth (who has brought folk music to a wide audience through radio play and Glastonbury appearances).

As well as a constantly busy touring schedule Sean is also in high demand as a record producer, working with some of the top names in Folk and Roots music (Levellers, Billy Bragg, Frank Turner, Bellowhead).
