A303 Complete Closure between Willoughby Hedge and Mere for 5 weeks

The A303 will be closed for five weeks between the 15th of February and the 19th of March 2010.

The Highways Authority has decided that about 6km between Willoughby Hedge and Mere has reached the end of its effective life and extensive works are essential to repair and strengthen the road, repair drainage and install new safety barriers. The road will also be widened by a meter where possible to assist with drainage and provide additional space for breakdowns and maintenance.

The Highways Authority map below shows the routes to be taken by Heavy Goods Vehicle traffic and light traffic. This involves driving to Shaftesbury on the B3081 and then back on the A350.
