A Wonderful Garden Party for Wincanton Community Hospital

Party goers with a swingFriday 13th. Yes, we always knew it would be cursed but did we care? No we went ahead with the plans and what a wonderful evening it turned out to be.
Our sincere thanks go to Otter Nurseries for allowing us to use their house as the venue for our Garden Party, which we decided to have this year on Friday 13th September of all days.

Yes, you have guessed it – after the lovely long hot summer evenings we have had for three months, on this night it rained and rained. Still, after all the hard work and preparation by members of the committee and all the tickets that had been sold we could do no more than go ahead and it turned out to be a really good evening for all who attended. We think we had about 90-100 people there on the evening despite the awful weather. Some even were brave enough to sit outside under the gazebos.

The Hog Roast when ready was delicious, and salads great. Wine flowed and the desserts were to die for. Music played in the background and there was lots of fun and chatter all evening. A raffle was held and all the prizes had been donated so all monies made from this was profit.

It was well supported once again and we thank the community of Wincanton and surrounding areas for coming along and helping make this evening the success it was.
