A New Café In Town!

Monday 19 December 2011, 23:10
By Bruno Branson

Inside the new Cat CafeIn what used to be International Stores, Mattar Arcade and most recently Second Chance charity shop you will find The Cat Café. Imaginatively refurbished and featuring part of the old Town Hall, it features a vaulted ceiling with a cosy, soft seating area and original stores yard floor, creating an unusual and spacious café.

We offer a varied menu, including cakes and soups, all cooked on the premises using fresh, natural ingredients - locally sourced where possible, and of course great coffee, teas and milkshakes. Most items on the menu can be packaged to take-away if time is an issue. We are licensed, so you may enjoy a glass of wine or beer with your meal. Wi-fi is available, too - please ask at the counter for details.

Families are welcome - we have a dedicated baby changing room and high chair. Child-size portions are available throughout our menu.

The Cat Café holds a live music licence and we'd love to hear from local musicians who may be interested in playing (soft amplification only) and possibly organising a regular open-mic evening/lunchtime... please get in touch if this is you!

Artists - we currently have on display works by Dorset artist Karren Burkett. Karren will be exhibiting here until the end of January. We welcome enquiries from other local artists who would like to display their work.

In the New Year we will be open on Sundays for lunch and on Friday and Saturday evenings - an exciting dinner menu is under construction.
